Um.... ^^' instead of using a can you can just use flexable plastic.... and hot glue

yea and it is very easy, I just don't think it's 'safe' you can get cut from both the tact's and the can.

how do u keep the aluminum from rolling up into the shape of the can?
Reply
:iconladyswallow:
LadySwallow Featured By Owner Feb 2, 2011  Hobbyist Digital Artist
The band I used was rather inflexible, so when I pinned the aluminium it wasn't rolling.

//sorry, bad english.

ok cause i was trying to use more of a cotton like fabric and the metal kept rolling up and it didnt help that the fabric was really thin either

But when it is on your forehead it is still rolling?

Haha, this amuses me, mostly because I made my own hatai-ate a while back. I was making it up as I went along ^____^ sort of "yeah, this may work, I'll try it" haha. Though I do like your idea, perhaps I can incorporate it into my own method.

How "crinkly" is the metal? Foil crinkles heaps, even when I glue it on the cardboard nicely. And does it keep the curve when not worn? And how easy is it to cut? And the one in your tutorial had all these lines on the metal, does this happen with all can-metal? That and it seems to have crinkles in the metal already, is this from curving it, or putting the nail-thingys through it, is it avoidable? (in my method, I cut holes out so it doesn't deform the shape, but then again its mainly cardboard) And, if you know, how easy/good does it glue onto other things, like cardboard (the metal that is).

Heh heh. Me and my mega rambles -.-'.

Metal is really smoothy and unruffled inside the can ;) If the cloth you use is rather inflexible it will be well-shaped all the time. I used band made with cord and it was perfect! And I don't know if lines on metal are in every can, I'm sorry. And of course you can make better symbol on metal. Mine is crappy, I know ;p I've never tried to glue it, sorry again.

Wohaaa... my english is so terrible! I hope you can understand me ;)
